Week ahead: US PCE price data, Global PMIs in focus
(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus over the coming week will continue to be trained on the US inflation picture. On Friday, the US Department of Commerce will release personal income and spending data for September.
Included in that report will be the latest readings on the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge, the core price deflator for personal consumption expenditures.
Ahead of that, on Monday, S&P Global will publish the preliminary results for its Purchasing Managers' Indices in the UK, euro area and US.
The PMIs provide a closely followed first glimpse of activity in manufacturing and services sector activity each month.
In the euro area, Thursday will see the release of M3 money supply growth data for August, whilst preliminary readings on French and Spanish CPI for September will be published on Friday.
Further afield, rate-setters Down Under will make a policy announcement on Tuesday, followed by their peers on Thursday.
