Director dealings: Airtel director's entity invests, Gran Tierra CEO sells

(Sharecast News) - Two notable director dealings disclosed to the London market on Thursday involved significant transactions by entities connected to Airtel Africa and Gran Tierra Energy.

Airtel Africa, a telecommunications provider across 14 African markets, reported a share purchase by Indian Continent Investment, an entity closely associated with Shravin Bharti Mittal.

On 27 December, the entity acquired 15 million shares at a price of 105p per share, amounting to a total value of £15.75m.

The transaction occurred outside a trading venue, and was formally notified to the company on 30 December.

Meanwhile, Gran Tierra Energy, a Calgary-based oil and gas producer focused on Latin America, disclosed the disposal of common shares by its president and chief executive officer Gary Guidry.

Guidry sold 52,000 shares at $6.99 each on 27 December, generating proceeds of $363,480.

The transaction also took place outside a trading venue.

At 1521 GMT, shares in Airtel Africa were up 2.38% at 116.3p, while those in Gran Tierra Energy were up 5.77% at 550p.
